SECTION: Alarms and Response Procedures

SUBJECT: Mutual Aid

REVISED: 05/2002

 

PURPOSE:

To facilitate the understanding and utilization of the County Mutual Aid agreement.

  POLICY:

A.    It shall be the policy of this department to provide aid to those jurisdictions that need assistance when the local emergency fire service resources are not available or inadequate to handle an emergency incident.

B.      It shall be the policy of this department to provide mutual aid to outside jurisdictions as long as the town coverage is not jeopardized.

  PROCEDURES :

A.    Jefferson County

1.      Request for assistance of a engine, aerial ladder, rescue and ambulance shall be honored to surrounding jurisdictions.

2.      On request the Engine, Aerial Ladder, Rescue Truck and Ambulance shall respond to an incident with full crew onboard.  No personnel are to respond directly to the scene.

3.      Request for Aerial Ladder, Rescue is to respond also.

B.      City of Watertown

1.      Request for assistance of a engine, aerial ladder, rescue and ambulance shall be honored to the City of Watertown.

2.      On request the Engine, Aerial Ladder, Rescue Truck and Ambulance shall respond to an incident with full crew onboard.  No personnel are to respond directly to the scene.

Only equipment requested is to respond.
